The story so far …

Aiming to transcend genre-typical dynamics, the three piece outfit allows driving guitars, droning bass sounds and thunderous drums to sit right beside simmering melodies and electronica-inspired beats. The band tries to create intriguing soundscapes by drawing on the occasional unusual song structure and odd time signature while still retaining emotional immediacy.

Dong and Martin, formerly of Wrestling Vertigo, initially planned to fill the spots left vacant by both departing vocalist and drummer. However, after being joined by Tobi on drums, they soon started to like the new sounds they were now creating as a trio and decided to continue as a new project named Halcyon Waves.

Over a period of 2 years, they continued to compose songs and refine their sound, resulting in the release of a first rough demo. Late spring 2024 marked the band's first live show. Dong, Martin, and Tobi soon realised that they wanted to record their songs properly. 
The next summer, the band recorded tracks for their first EP, drawing on the help of their good friend Niki. The self-titled EP was released in late autumn of 2024, mixed by the band, and mastered by Buschi from Zweitausend Watt.
